About me
I’m Isabelle Andrews. For over 12 years I’ve worked in digital product development and led product teams through pressure, complexity and ambiguity in organisations like the Department for Education and Unicef UK.
In 2023 I left London and moved to rural France, challenging myself to adapt and discover a new way to live. It’s been a steep learning curve that’s included joining the local council and starting a tourism business. But it’s given me clarity about my own strengths, as well as the difference that good design in products, services and policy can make to our lives.
My bold, empathetic approach to product management, coaching and mentoring has helped product people grow in confidence and skill in complex organisations.
I believe that, even amid the explosion of AI in product development, establishing shared purpose, alignment and trust with other humans is the hardest - and most valuable - part of a product manager’s role.
This is what brings me to product coaching.
When can coaching help?
When a product manager is new to the role or the context
I can work 121 with product managers to help them:
find their own style - and unique value - within a product team
apply theories and adapt frameworks to real contexts and problems
build credibility, alignment and trust with a team and stakeholders
tell a compelling story
be a multiplier, not a manager, in a multidisciplinary team.
When there is misalignment at team level
When there’s no shared purpose it’s hard to progress or collaborate as a team.
As a fresh pair of eyes and ears, I can work with product teams to identify sticking points and help them re-align towards a shared vision.
When an organisation or team is new to discovery
A team planning a first discovery may struggle to find direction, see what’s valuable and maintain stakeholders’ interest amid ambiguity.
I can help them break down big questions, focus on outcomes and find ways to deliver value quickly.
What’s it like to work with me?
“I had the privilege of working with Isabelle as my coach, and I can’t recommend her highly enough.
No matter how complex or high-pressure the situation, she has an incredible ability to create space and help you focus on what really matters. Her thoughtful approach to problem-solving consistently helped me step back and see the bigger picture, rather than getting stuck in the weeds.
One of Isabelle’s standout strengths is her ability to navigate and advise on tricky stakeholder dynamics. She has a sharp instinct for understanding different perspectives and guiding you towards constructive, practical ways forward – something that proved invaluable time and again.
Personally, Isabelle has had a lasting impact on how I think and operate. Rather than simply reinforcing my initial view of a situation, she asked incisive questions and challenged my thinking on the best way forward. This helped me become more deliberate in my approach, more inclusive in how I engaged others, and more focused on ensuring all of our product efforts are impact-driven.
Any individual or organisation would be incredibly fortunate to work with her, and I hope to again in future!”
Kat, product leader
“Isabelle helped me navigate the intricacies of working for the public sector and what it meant to be a PM in that space. Her coaching helped me break down issues I was facing so I could tackle them myself. I still use the skills I learned from her today and can honestly say I'm a better PM for it.”
Lea, senior product manager
“Isabelle is one of the most impressive product leaders I’ve worked alongside. She’s a big-picture thinker — always able to connect the dots between policy, user needs, and business goals — while never losing sight of the human side of product development. She has a real knack for unpicking the gnarliest challenges, turning ambiguity into actionable outcomes.
What really stands out is Isabelle’s constant drive to improve ways of working and boost team morale — a true example of what great product leadership looks like.”
